<p>A cooling roll cleaning device in which the cleanliness of a brush is maintained at a high level. The cooling roll cleaning device includes the brush (13) having a rotatable tubular barrel (15) provided with a large number of suction holes (14) which penetrate inward from the outer peripheral surface of the barrel and extending parallel to the axis of a cooling roll; element wires (16) for grinding and sweeping the cooling roll, implanted in the outer peripheral surface of the barrel (15) and forming a helical line extending from one end to the other end of the barrel (15); and a dust suction opening (18) formed in one end of the barrel (15) and communicating with the space in the barrel (15). A gas discharge mechanism is connected to the dust suction opening (18) of the brush (13).</p>
