Disclosed are: a bactericidal disinfectant composition which is effective against both viruses and food-poisoning bacteria; a bactericidal disinfectant material comprising the bactericidal disinfectant composition; and a disinfection method using the bactericidal disinfectant composition or the bactericidal disinfectant material. Specifically disclosed is a bactericidal disinfectant composition comprising components (A) to (C) shown below at the below-mentioned contents relative to the total amount of the composition, and also comprises water as component (D), wherein an undiluted solution of the composition has a pH value ranging from 8 to 12 at 25°C (JIS Z-8802:1984 "a pH measurement method"): (A) 35 to 75 mass% of a lower alcohol; (B) 0.05 to 10 mass% of (b1) an organic acid and an alkali metal salt thereof and/or (b2) an inorganic acid and an alkali metal salt thereof; and (C) 0.05 to 5 mass% of at least one nonionic surfactant selected from a monoglycerin fatty acid ester, a polyglycerin fatty acid ester, a sorbitan fatty acid ester, a polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester and a sucrose fatty acid ester.
