PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a problem wherein a solid object disappears without allowing the solid object to be a double image, when synthesizing two bird's-eye view images having a common region. SOLUTION: Each captured image from front and side cameras installed at the front and left sides of the vehicle, respectively, is converted to a bird's-eye view image for displaying the composite bird's-eye view image, where respective bird's-eye view images are synthesized. For a common region where both the bird's-eye view images are overlapped, a differential image 113 between an image 112 of the front camera and an image 111 of the side one is generated for detecting a differential region 123 in which a solid object is drawn.
