PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a destination input device which can efficiently select a target destination. SOLUTION: A normal search and an ambiguous search are performed from an input character. The ambiguous search uses an ambiguous dictionary in which a related word related to destination data and a generic word which gives a general name to a plurality of destination data are associated with the related word and in which each generic word and destination data are associated with each other. A related word which exactly matches the input character is extracted. Generic words are narrowed down from the related word, and destination candidates are narrowed down from the generic words. By extracting only the exactly matched related word, the search result of the ambiguous search is reduced. The search result displays a list of the generic words narrowed down by the ambiguous search and the destination candidates narrowed down by the normal search, thereby reducing the number of list display by the ambiguous search. In the list of the search result, the generic word is displayed first, and a search switching button 78 is provided for moving the display list to the head of the destination candidates of the normal search.
