PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a new thermosetting resin having a dihydrobenzoxazine ring structure excellent in low dielectric characteristics, and to provide a thermosetting resin obtained by the above method, a thermosetting composition containing the thermosetting resin, a molded body and a cured body obtained from the thermosetting composition, and electronic equipment containing the thermosetting resin or the like. SOLUTION: The method for preparing a thermosetting resin having a dihydrobenzoxazine ring structure comprises making a polyvalent aromatic amine resin which is obtained by heating a xylene-formaldehyde resin or a mesitylene-formaldehyde resin or the mixture thereof and an aromatic amine compound in the presence of an acid catalyst, react with a phenol compound and an aldehyde compound by heating.
