PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for hydrophilization treatments, which can form coating films excellent in processability, hydrophilicity-retaining property and stain resistance. SOLUTION: This composition for the hydrophilization treatments is characterized by containing fine hydrophilic cross-linked polymer particles (A) comprising a copolymer of a monomer mixture comprising (a) 2 to 50 mass% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having a polyoxyalkylene chain or polyvinylpyrrolidone chain, (b) 30 to 65 mass% of N-methylolacrylamide and/or N-methylol methacrylamide, (c) 0.1 to 5 mass% of a compound having two or more polymerizable double bonds in one molecule, (d) 2 to 50 mass% of a carboxyl group-containing polymerizable unsaturated monomer, (e) 0 to 50 mass% of a (meth)acrylamide-based polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and (f) 0 to 65.9 mass% of a monomer having one polymerizable unsaturated group in one molecule, except the (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e).
