<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing sliced snack food having crispy palate feeling from bread. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of cutting bread into slices; a step of putting a slice of bread between the heating rollers, simultaneously pressurizing and heating the slice of bread to produce the slice of bread into chips; and a step of drying the produced chip-formed bread. When heating and pressurizing the slice of bread, the slice of bread is heated at 120-180°C for 1-5 sec, while the thickness of the slice is 3.0-7.0 mm, and the thickness of the chip is 0.5-2.0 mm.
