<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the deterioration of a two-component developer by stopping a developer carrier in the rotating state of an image carrier while suppressing adverse effects of frictional electrification in the developer carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In a black monochroic mode for performing image formation using only a black image forming part, a developer carrier 12Y in a yellow image forming part P1 is stopped while rotating a photosensitive drum 11Y to suppress the deterioration of the two-component developer. At this time, the potential of the developer carrier 12Y is raised to the potential of frictional electrification by separating the developer carrier 12Y from the ground potential to thereby prevent the charge of frictional electrification from being released to the ground potential. By this, the movement of toner in the developer carrier 12Y is stopped to avoid a phenomenon in which the toner is aggregated on the surface of the developer carrier 12Y. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
