PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magenta toner having high durability capable of continuously outputting images of high definition and high picture quality even for a long period of printing, while keeping good fixability at a low temperature, high gloss and transparency for an OHP. SOLUTION: The toner comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a polar resin and is characterized in that: the toner particles are prepared in an aqueous medium; a cyclohexane (CHX) insoluble content in a tetrahydrofuran (THF) soluble content of the toner has a glass transition (Tg) measured by differential scanning calorimetry, existing at least in a range from 80°C to 120°C; the cyclohexane (CHX) insoluble content has an acidic number of 5 mgKOH/g to 40 mgKOH/g; and the colorant is a monoazo pigment.
