<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee airbag constituted so that its height and width are adjustable and the airbag is deployed along a lower crush panel. <P>SOLUTION: The knee airbag is installed on the lower crush panel where an inflator is installed in a prescribed position, and provided with one or more folds as overlapping on the side face in its vertical direction. By this airbag structure in which the upper part is inflated more largely than the lower part, the knee of the seat occupant can be protected safely, and since the airbag is inflated not only in the upper part but also to the lower part, the ankle of the occupant can be protected. Further the height and width of the airbag can be adjusted easily and the airbag is inflated identically to the lower crush shape, thus protecting the occupant more safely. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
