<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restart a job from an image forming apparatus having no resume function when restarting an interrupted job. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an interface port connectable with other device having a communication means, a means for authenticating a user, a means for generating encryption key information from login information for authenticating the user, unique information of the connected device and the unique ID of the device and transferring the generated encryption key information to the device, and a means for encrypting and storing, as resume data, the processing information of a job performed between the devices on the basis of the encryption key information. When the device is disconnected, the image forming apparatus discriminates whether the job is ended or interrupted, and erases the resume data when the job is ended, and holds the resume data as they are when the job is interrupted. When connecting the device again and restarting work after authenticating the user, the image forming apparatus reads an encryption key from the device, loads the resume data, performs decoding and restarts the work. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
