PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress infiltration of impurities such as oxide into a gap between a plunger and a cylinder causing damage to or early wear of the surfaces of the plunger and cylinder, and further to prevent or suppress the infiltration of the air into the cylinder. SOLUTION: A hot chamber die casting machine is provided with a main tube 3 which is arranged inside a molten metal 50 stored in a pot 2 and which comprises: the cylinder 16 to be supplied with the molten metal 50; a molten metal feed port 18 feeding the molten metal 50 into the cylinder 16 at the bottom face part; and a molten metal supply path 19 through which the molten metal 50 extruded from the cylinder passes at the side face part. The hot chamber die casting machine is further provided with: a plunger 4 reciprocating inside the cylinder 16; a nozzle 5 connecting the molten metal supply path 19 and the pouring port 43 of a die 40 together and pouring the molten metal 50 into the die 40; and a valve 22 opening/closing the molten metal feed port 18 in conjunction with the reciprocating of the plunger 4. In this way, the infiltration of impurities such as oxide from the gap between the plunger and the cylinder is prevented or suppressed, and further, the infiltration of the air into the cylinder is prevented or suppressed.
