A drip pan apparatus 200 for a 'M' model BLACK HAWK ® helicopter 10 and the like includes an expanded corner 210 structure for accommodating an access port also positioned further outwardly in the corner 210 than in prior drip pan apparatuses, facilitating filter viewing while retaining peripheral o-ring seal. An expanded corner 210 of the airframe skirt 207 is accommodated by the expanded corresponding corner 216 of a frame 215, which also defines a small radius internal curve 242. The removable pan 220 has a small radius curve 221 cooperating with the small radius curve 242 of the frame 215 and is sealed thereto by the peripheral o-ring seal 222 sealing the entire pan 220 to the frame 215. Physical access to the filter is enhanced. |
