FUEL OIL FOR HYDROGEN PREPARATION, AND HYDROGEN PREPARATION USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil for hydrogen preparation capable of restraining adverse effect to a hydrogen preparation apparatus and/or a unit disposed downstream thereof even in the case of preparation of hydrogen at a low temperature, and capable of efficiently preparing hydrogen by shortening the time needed for start of the hydrogen preparation.

SOLUTION: The fuel oil for hydrogen preparation is to be supplied to a modifying part comprising a stream reforming catalyst so as to have a stream reforming reaction with a condition of a 500°C or lower inlet temperature of a stream reforming catalyst layer for producing a gas containing hydrogen. Its sulfur content is 0.05 mass ppm or less. Its content of dibenzothiophenes is 0.02 mass ppm or less. Its distillation initial boiling point is 140°C or higher. Its 95 capacity% distillation point is 270°C or lower and its distillation endpoint is 300°C or lower. The content of a straight chain aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon is less than 25 mass%. Its aromatic group content is 20 volume% or less and it substantially does not contain an olefin compound.
