<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold which hardly generates a bear in a tire. <P>SOLUTION: A tread segment of the mold is equipped with a piece 12. The piece 12 consists of a number of plates 24. A number of the plates 24 are united by bolts 28 and nuts 30. Each plate 24 has a number of ribs 34. The heights of the ribs 34 are 0.01-0.08 mm. The ribs 34 of the plate 24 are brought into contact with the undersurface of another plate 24. By this contact, adjoining plates 24 keep a number of slits 36 in between. The slits 36 reach the back face from the cavity face of the piece 12.
