<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of an input side shaft in an orthogonal reduction gear, and to make the structure compact in size. <P>SOLUTION: An intermediate shaft 13 includes a main shaft 13b and a pinion insertion section 13c having a diameter smaller than that of the main shaft 13b and fixing a bevel pinion 23. When the length of a position from a position for mounting a nut 42 in the pinion insertion section 13c to the main shaft 13b is considered as a pinion insertion length L<SB>p</SB>, the intermediate shaft 13 is formed so that the ratio L<SB>p</SB>/L<SB>s</SB>of the pinion insertion length L<SB>p</SB>relative to the length L<SB>s</SB>of the main shaft 13b falls within a range of 1.0 or longer or shorter than 1.8. Thus, the shaft diameter of the pinion insertion section 13c can be enlarged and the length of the intermediate shaft 13 can be shortened, and therefore, the strength can be increased and the structure can be made compact in size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
