PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a microcapsule, with which the microcapsule with broadening of the particle size distribution excellently restrained can be easily produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the microcapsule includes: an emulsification step of emulsifying an oil phase which contains a core substance and a polymerizable substance at the least, in a water phase by using a nonionic water-soluble dispersant to prepare an emulsion liquid; and a polymerization step of adding a polymeric reagent to the emulsion liquid of a state heated to high temperature to subject the polymerizable substance to interfacial polymerization and form a capsule wall.
