PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent nonuniform temperature caused by low driving frequencies of joints, in a head that includes a plurality of recording element groups composed of recording elements provided with heaters and ejecting ports for ejecting ink, and the recording element groups are arranged so as to have the joints where a part of lines of the ejecting ports of the adjacent recording element groups superposes. SOLUTION: A driving waveform setting signal line different from a driving waveform setting signal line that applies a driving waveform setting signal to a heater driving circuit corresponding to a recording element in the central part of a line of ejecting ports is connected to the heater driving circuit corresponding to the recording element of each of the joints.
