The invention relates to a mold for creating a microstructure. Said mold comprises a support film and a stamping lacquer that is arranged on the support film. The surface of the stamping lacquer has an arrangement of elevations and depressions in the shape of the desired microstructure. The microstructure of the mold formed by the arrangement of elevations and depressions is formed by microstructure elements having a minimum structure distance of 1 µm and a structure depth ranging from about 1 µm to 20 µm. The invention further relates to a master film for producing a stamping mold, a stamping mold for producing a microstructure, a security element that has a microstructure, and corresponding methods for producing the mold, master film, stamping mold, and security element.
