A disposable absorbent article which can exert a great temperature change on the surface of the article, specifically, a disposable absorbent article comprising a liquid-permeable top sheet (30), a liquid-impermeable sheet (11), and an absorbent element (50) interposed therebetween over an area including the crotch area, which is so constituted that a particulate temperature-changing substance (40) capable of cooling or heating urine when brought into contact with urine is sprayed and held on the surface of an absorber (56) containing highly absorbent polymer particles at least in the top-side layer, whereby urea can be cooled or heated by the substance (40) and absorbed and retained by the highly absorbent polymer in the top-side layer of the absorber (56).
