A gear train of automatic transmission for vehicles is provided to improve performance of power transmission by assembling a planetary gear set with three clutches and tow brakes. The first planetary gear set(PG1) holds the first sun gear(S1), the first planetary carrier(PC1), and the first ring gear(R1). The second planet gear set(PG2) holds the second sun gear(S2), the second planet carrier(PC2), and the second ring gear(R2). The third planetary gear set(PG3) holds the third sun gear(S3), the third planetary carrier(PC3), and the third ring gear(R3). The fourth planetary gear set(PG4) holds the fourth sun gear(S4), the fourth planetary carrier(PC4), and the fourth ring gear(R4). The first sun gear and the first ring gear are connected to each transmission housing(H). The fourth planetary carrier is connected to the output axis.
