PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting dimension inspection device which can inspect the length of book carrying direction with a high degree of accuracy, without causing defects in quality, such as damages or rubbing on the book. SOLUTION: This is cutting dimension inspection device for inspecting dimensions of a quire or book being carried in a given direction (hereinafter, to be called merely "book"). The device is characterized, by comprising a conveying sensor for carrying a book; a plurality of width direction transit detection means located at a certain distance along the direction nonparallel to the book carrying direction; a position detecting sensor which has a predefined detection width, in parallel with the book-carrying direction to detect side location of the book; a conveyance speed measuring means for measuring the conveyance speed of the book, and an acceptance determining means which calculates the length in the book-carrying direction from transit timing data of the book side, detected by each width direction transit detection means, side location data of the book detected by the position detecting sensor, and the conveyance speed data measured by the conveyance speed measuring means, and then compares this calculated length with a preset value range, to determine the quality level.
