摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical alignment liquid crystal display device that can display an image having excellent quality without exhibiting the feeling of rough surface by stably falling and aligning liquid crystal molecules in each of pixels through the application of voltage. <P>SOLUTION: One internal surface 1 out of internal surfaces of a pair of substrates 1 and 2 includes: a plurality of pixel electrodes 3; a plurality of thin film transistors (TFTs); a plurality of scanning lines and signal lines; and a plurality of projection portions 13 provided according to each center of the plurality of pixel electrodes 3. The internal surface of the other substrate 2 includes a counter electrode 20. Vertical alignment layers 25 and 26 are provided on internal surfaces of the pair of the substrates 1 and 2, respectively; and a liquid crystal layer 27 that has negative dielectric anisotropy is provided in a space between the plurality of the substrates 1 and 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
