PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for continuing service at low cost without requiring complicated processing such as dividing a communication line during switching in redundant configuration composed of a plurality of servers. SOLUTION: A plurality of active servers are cascade-connected so that data synchronized with data in an prestage server is stored in a poststage server. A stand-by server contains data synchronized with data in the last stage of the cascade connection of active servers. If any one of the active servers fails, the servers following the failed active server and the stand-by server respectively use data synchronized with the prestage servers so as to take over the services which have been performed by the prestage servers.
