The invention relates to a device for the locking and unlocking of a vehicle door using a lock locking lever (1), wherein said lever is connected by a linking arrangement to the rotary shaft (2) of an engine (3), the arrangement being adapted for moving the lever (1) and an inner door-lock button (4) connected to said lever upon a locking or unlocking rotation of the engine shaft, the linking arrangement including a rotary member (7) provided with at least one crank pin intended to abut against two surfaces provided on said lever, the device including a clutch assembly permitting the free movement of the inner door-lock button independently from the engine. According to the invention, said clutch assembly includes a calibrated elastic member (8) urging back said linking arrangement into an inactive position at the end of a locking or unlocking rotation of the engine shaft.
