<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new process by which carbon nanotubes different in type or properties can be separated easily and which is excellent in cost-effectiveness. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating carbon nanotubes (CNT) is excellent in cost-effectiveness. In the method, a dispersion system is prepared by dispersing carbon nanotubes into a dispersion medium, and then an adsorbent and the dispersion system are mixed so that carbon nanotubes different in type and contained in the dispersion system are adsorbed onto the adsorbent, wherein the adsorbent is modified by a chemical/biological modifier so that the adsorbent has a different adsorption selectivity to different type of carbon nanotubes. Further, the carbon nanotubes different in type being adsorbed on the adsorbent are separated from the carbon nanotube having another type, concentrated in the dispersion system, when the adsorbent is separated from the dispersion system. Carbon nanotubes produced by the treatment process and a CNT device including the carbon nanotubes are also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
