PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of enabling the moving range of a movable member to be sufficiently secured while suppressing the abrasion of a cable at a curved part of a coil spring. SOLUTION: A cable type operating device 50, which moves a brake lever 52 connected to the cable 54 by advancing and pulling back the cable 54, has the coil spring 56 and a support member 58. The cable 54 is supported by the support member 58 on its wiring path. One end of the coil spring 56 is fixed to the brake lever 52, and the other end to the support member 58. The cable 54 is passed through its inside hole. A curved guide surface 58b, which contacts the end of the coil spring 56 from the side, is formed on the support member 58, and a large-diameter part, where the coil diameter and coil pitch are enlarged, is formed on the intermediate part of the coil spring 56.
