PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost long lifetime thrust roller bearing for a swash plate compressor excellent in wear resistance. SOLUTION: The thrust roller bearing 11 includes a plurality of rollers, and raceway boards 12, 13 formed by applying heat treatment on cold-finished steel strip of surface roughness Rmax≤2μm provided by cold-rolling high-carbon steel containing 0.9-1.2 wt.% of carbon, 1.2-1.7 wt.% of chrome, 0.1-0.5 wt.% of manganese, and 0.15-0.35 wt.% of silicon. Difference of nitrogen concentrations of nitrogen enriched layers formed on wall surfaces at one side and another side in a thickness direction of the raceway boards 12, 13 respectively is 0.2 wt.% or less.
