PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive self-fluxing pellet which has more excellent high-temperature reducibility and is more suitable for use, in combination with sintered ore, as an iron raw material for a blast furnace, by defining a more proper range of a combination of a mass ratio of CaO/SiO<SB>2</SB>and a mass ratio of MgO/SiO<SB>2</SB>in a self-fluxing pellet, including iron grade, and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The self-fluxing pellet for a blast furnace is characterized in that: a mass ratio of CaO/SiO<SB>2</SB>, C/S, is≥0.8; a mass ratio of MgO/SiO<SB>2</SB>, M/S, is≥0.4; and a starting temperature of rapid increase in pressure drop, Ts (unit:°C), in a high-temperature reduction test under load, computed by the following equation is≥1,290°C: Ts=110×C/S+100×M/S+25×%TFe-480, where %TFe is total iron content (mass%).
