PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To examine an ink discharge characteristic of two or more nozzles in a recording head, efficiently and accurately. SOLUTION: Two or more ink droplets discharged from two or more nozzles in the ink-jet recording head 107 are photographed by a CCD camera 110, and the picture part of the main droplet in each of two or more ink droplets is extracted from the photographed picture.
