<p>A navigation system and method for providing guidance for a route in the navigation system is provided. The method includes: measuring a location of a moving object via a global positioning system (GPS), and embodying a first moving object image which displays the measured location of the moving object; determining whether the first moving object image exists on a recommended route set in advance; and embodying a second moving object image when the first moving object image does not exist on the recommended route as a result of the determination, the second moving object image being configured differently from the first moving object image on the recommended route. The navigation system may provide a user with more detailed information regarding a driving status of a current moving object since a user can clearly recognize the current location of the moving object by distinguishing from a location of the moving object on a recommended route.</p> |
