Class 135 [Also in Group XIII] As an excess pressure relief, an elastic closure, such as a rubber cap 15 or plug Fig. 5 (not shown), is provided for an opening 14 at the end remote from the inlet 9 of a coolant inlet tube 8 of a liquid cooler (see Group XIII). Liquid such as milk is cooled by passing over a horizontally-corrugated cooler 1 through which coolant circulates from the inlet tube 8 to a similar tube situated at the top of the cooler as an outlet. The coolant may be water and if its pressure increases, e.g. because of constriction of a rubber delivery pipe attached to the coolant outlet tube, the cap 15 or plug is blown from the opening 14. |
