A method for transmitting data using a phase shift based pre-coding and a transceiver supporting the same are provided to perform optimum communication by providing a variable unit matrix or selecting the phase shift based pre-coding method according to various communication situations. A pre-coding matrix decision module(541) determines a first matrix which is a diagonal matrix for the phase shift as a part of the phase shift based pre-coding matrix. A pre-coding matrix decision module selects a second matrix in a codebook with at least one unit matrix as the part of the phase shift based pre-coding matrix. The pre-coding matrix decision module determines the phase shift based pre-coding matrix by multiplying the first matrix by the second matrix. A pre-coding matrix reconfiguration module(542) adds the predetermined phase angle to the first matrix in the predetermined time or the predetermined subcarrier unit. A pre-coding module(543) performs the pre-coding by multiplying the symbol of the corresponding subcarrier by the phase shift based pre-coding matrix.
