摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of an apparatus when an error of data measured by an optical channel monitor becomes large during a fluctuation in the optical level of a transmission line. <P>SOLUTION: Total light power is analog-to-digital converted by an A/D converter 6. Data of the total light power which has been analog-to-digital converted are compared with a reference light power by a comparator 8 for each conversion, and when the difference between the total light power and the reference light power exceeds a predetermined threshold, a fluctuation detection flag is turned ON. After the comparison, a processor 9 iterates the above process of the analog-to-digital conversion and the comparison until an optical channel monitor 3 completes the data collection for each wavelength. Thereafter, the processor 9 determines whether the fluctuation detection flag is ON or not. When the fluctuation detection flag is ON, the processor 9 discards the currently collected data and maintains the data which were collected immediately before. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
