PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium suitable for highly accurately recording/reproducing user information, and an information storage device having such the information recording medium and configured to satisfactorily reproduce or record user information. SOLUTION: The information storage device includes an information storage medium, and a pair of heads opposed to the front and backside of the information storage medium under rotation, placed oppositely to each other while holding the information storage medium between them, and configured to access the front and the backside of the information storage medium. In the information storage medium, a first area for writing/reading user information, and a second area for storing positioning information of the pair of heads are separately formed on the front and the backside of the information storage medium, respectively, and the first area of one face between the front and the backside is formed in a position overlapping the second area of the other face. The device includes a drive control unit for moving the other head to the desired position of the first area on the basis of the positioning information read by the head facing the second area.
