PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve at least one of adjusting the temperature of intake air, or suppressing deterioration of power which can be used for the travel of a vehicle on which the internal combustion engine is mounted. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes an internal combustion engine body 100 which outputs power by combustion of a mixture of air and fuel, an intake air passage 118 connected to the internal combustion engine body 100, for directing air to the internal combustion engine body 100, a supercharger 130 provided at the intake air passage 118 for pressurizing the air to direct it to the internal combustion engine body 100, and a heat exchanger 150 provided at the intake air passage 118 between the supercharger 130 and the internal combustion engine body 100, and includes a medium, e.g., water and air for heat exchanging with air which flows through the intake air passage 118.
