PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal compound having a large negativeΔεvalue, a low viscosity, a large K<SB>33</SB>/K<SB>11</SB>value, a smallΔε/ε⊥value, and excellent compatibility even at an extremely low temperature; and to provide a liquid crystal composition using the same, and a liquid crystal display device using the composition. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition containing at least one liquid crystal compound represented by following general formula (1), for example, a liquid crystal compound exemplified by 2,3-difluoro-1-ethoxy-4-(trans-4-(3-butenyl)cyclohexyl)benzene.
