PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new immunostimulant oligonucleotide composition, a useful method based on the immunostimulating activity of the oligonucleotide, a neutral origonucleotide, a useful method for utilizing the neutral nucleotide, an immunoinhibitory oligonucleotide, and various use of the immunoinhibitory oligonucleotide.

SOLUTION: The immunostimulant oligonucleotide containing at least a nucleic acid sequence represented by the following formula I: 5' X1X2CGX3X43' wherein CG is unmethylated CpG dinucleotides that impart immunostimulant activity to the oligonucleotides and at least one of the X1and X2is purine, and at least one of the X3and X4is pyrimidine.
