PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of discriminating the generation of a large amount of bubbles from the simple decline of a water level and the generation of a small amount of bubbles and detecting it. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises a washing tub, a pump for sucking and jetting washing water inside the washing tub, a bubble suction detection means for detecting whether or not the pump is sucking the bubbles, a fan for sending air into the washing tub, a water level chamber communicated with the washing tube, a float capable of floating inside the water level chamber, a float detection means for detecting whether or not the floating height of the float has reached a reference height, and a controller. The controller performs a step of detecting whether or not the pump is sucking the bubbles, a step of detecting whether or not the float has reached the reference height when bubble suction is detected, and a step of operating the fan and detecting whether or not the float reaches the reference height when detecting that the float has not reached the reference height.
