<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly efficiently producing a furan compound by stably converting a furfural compound by suppressing the activity of a catalyst from lowering with time in the production of the furan compound from the furfural compound. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the furan compound includes the step of subjecting a furfural compound raw material to a decarbonylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst containing at least one element selected from Zr and Hf and at least one metallic element selected from among the elements of groups 8, 9, and 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
