This invention relates to a fuel tank and fuel pump assembly for automobiles comprising a fuel tank provided with an access port at its upper wall, said access port sealingly joined to a mounting ring provided with mounting studs, a fuel pump module sealingly and downwardly disposed through the access port, the free end of said module being positioned and submerged within a swirl pot provided at the bottom of said fuel tank below said fuel pump module. This invention improves the fuel supply and is cost effective.
