The pipe (100) has a seal (102) connected with an upper, straight pipe (101). A lower, curved pipe section (103) is connected with the seal and connected with a wall of an interior space in a region of an opening (134) in the wall. The seal has a projection (122) projecting at an interior of the seal for limiting penetration of the straight pipe and seal into the pipe section. The projection compensates a relative movement between the straight pipe and the pipe section, where the pipe section is made of metal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for installing a ventilation pipe in a cooking appliance (2) a method for removing a surface of a ventilation pipe.
