<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game apparatus which can be operated by a natural motion of a game player while the game player does not perform a direct operation to an operating means or the like. <P>SOLUTION: On the front surface of the game apparatus casing 2, a video monitor 13 is installed. An operation panel 11 is installed directly under the video monitor 13, and on both sides of the upper section of the video monitor 13, a light receiving section 15 for a position detection is installed. In the game apparatus case 2 under the video monitor 13, a game processing board 10 which controls the whole of the game apparatus, an operating means controlling board 16, and a position detecting board 17 are installed. In this case, the operating means controlling board 16 controls a maracas-like operating means 20 which is operated by the player.
