<p>A liquid crystal display device is made by coating on a substrate (70) a mixture (73) including an alignment layer material (73b) for forming an alignment layer and an overcoat layer material (73a) for forming an overcoat layer; and at least partially separating the alignment layer material from the overcoat layer material within the mixture. An independent claim is also included for a material mixture used in fabricating a liquid crystal display (LCD) device, comprising a first component and a second component. The first component includes one of polyamide, polyimide-based compound, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyamic acid, polyvinyl cinnamate (PVCH), polysiloxane cinnamate (PSCN), and a cellulose cinnamate (CelCN)-based compound. The second component includes one of a photosensitive resin and an acrylic resin.</p> |
