An apparatus for monitoring performance of web applications by connecting WAS(Web Application Server) transaction with a DBMS(Database Management System) session and a method thereof are provided to perform monitoring the application performance, thereby quickly coping with troubles and performance delay. When specific transaction is performed in a WAS, a WAS performance collecting agent(14_1,14_n) collects session identification of a DBMS(22_1,22_n) and performance information of the WAS. DBMS performance collection agents collect performance information of the DBMS related to the performance information of the WAS. According to a request of a user, a repository(30) displays performance information interrelated between transaction of a specific WAS and a session of a specific DBMS on one integrated screen.
