PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily installable braking device for braking a sliding door in a full door closing operation. SOLUTION: This braking device 1 of a sliding door is attached to the sliding door 3 openably mounted on a door frame 2 and brakes the door closing motion of the sliding door 3. The braking device is operated when sash wheels 5 rolled on a rail 4 mounted on the door frame 2 when the sliding door 3 is opened and closed are rotated when the sliding door 3 is closed and acts a braking force on the sash wheels 5.
