A stone door and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to heighten added value by producing the high class feel of a door by covering the front, reverse sides and all border surfaces of a board with a slate to use for an indoor entrance door, a wardrobe door or a kitchen sink door, and cutting and grinding the slate to a minimum thickness and forming a hinge and a knob joint to make lightweight. A manufacturing method of a stone door comprises the steps of applying adhesives(30) on the front and reverse sides of many boards(10) cut into the size of a door and attaching slates(20) between the boards to be one block, attaching border slates(21) cut into the size of a border on all border surfaces of the boards by adhesives to make each board sealed completely and waterproofed by the slates, cutting the center of the slate between the board and the board to separate the boards from the block, grinding the surface of the cut slate attached to the front and reverse sides of the board to give surface gloss and to have a minimum thickness enough to bear an impact and grinding the border slates attached to all border surfaces of the board to have a minimum thickness, and removing a portion of slates at the side or the reverse side of the board to form hinge joints for fastening hinges to mount to an entrance or a sink. |
