PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the direction pointed by a photographing means optimum at all times, and obtain necessary image information on a running road in the running direction of your own vehicle to the maximum extent. SOLUTION: When a road dissipation point obtained based on image information is in an upper side above a normal range so as to let a slope in front be increased, a camera elevation angle is changed so as to be set up at the present slope based on a camera elevation angle as a standard when there exists no change in slope by a vertical pointing direction setting part 40. This processing is repeated until the road dissipation point comes again in a normal range, when a slope is increased, the camera elevation angle is increased upward by a vertical direction driving part 50. Reversely, when the road dissipation point is in a low side under the normal range so as to let a slope in front be decreased, the camera elevation angle is changed so as to be set up at the present slope when there exist no change in slope. This process is repeated until the road dissipation point comes again in the normal range, and when a slope is decreased, the camera elevation angle is thereby changed downward by the vertical direction driving part 50. |
