A compressor swash plate and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to soften the surface of a swash plate base to form a nitride layer and a porous layer so as to prevent the swash plate base from abrading and reducing the manufacturing cost. Cylindrical die casting is manufactured(S710). The die casting is cut and processed to form a swash plate base(S720). NH3 gas and Rx gas are supplied to the swash plate base at a temperature of 460 to 630 degrees for two to twenty-four hours to form a nitride layer and a porous layer on the nitride layer.
