<p>A method of producing a stretchable sheet causes nonwoven fabric (3) to have a large amount of extension (elongation) to produce a stretchable sheet (3a) that stretches a large amount. The method produces a stretchable sheet (3a) from the nonwoven fabric (3) having a longitudinal direction, lateral direction, and a thickness direction and containing multiple kinds of fibers. The method has a first extension step and a second extension step. The first extension step extends the nonwoven fabric (3) in the longitudinal direction by applying tension in the longitudinal direction to the nonwoven fabric (3). The second extension step causes the nonwoven fabric (3), extended by the first extension step, to pass through a gap between a pair of rotating gear rolls (41, 43) while allowing teeth (41t, 43t), which are formed on the outer circumferential surfaces (41a, 43a) of the gear rolls (41, 43), to mesh with each other, and thus the nonwoven fabric (3) is extended in the longitudinal direction by the teeth (41t, 43t).</p> |
